The study of geometry has been proved as a huge success for researching abstract challenges. In social networks, all kinds of rumors always propagate, so it is of great significance for developing the research of complex networks. In this paper, we focus on the hyperbolic geometry of complex networks embedded in the hyperbolic space. Firstly we introduce the basic concepts of hyperbolic geometry and the research methods of complex networks. Then we summarize the recent works about developing a geometric framework to study the structure and function of complex networks, including hyperbolic hierarchy structures, researches on the network growth model, interpretations of popularity and similarity of network growing node by node. Furthermore, by analyzing the statistics mechanics and other statistical characteristics such as degree distribution, dynamic complex networks model on the hyperbolic spaces has been discussed, which is based on the real networks.
